Sampath Bank drives its strategy in line with national developmen­t goals that look to take Sri Lanka towards economic prosperity and sustainabl­e developmen­t. Having recognised the essential part that Small and Medium entreprene­urs play in the country’s economic developmen­t, the Bank has launched a plethora of programs to empower such businesses in Sri Lanka. ‘Sampath Saviya’ programme which commenced three years ago is the front-runner amongst many such endeavors implemente­d by the Bank.

Sampath Saviya aims to contribute towards Sri Lanka’s socio-economic progress through arming the country’s valuable force of small and medium entreprene­urs with knowledge and skills to take on fresh challenges, innovate and become successful business entities.

Carried out in collaborat­ion with National Enterprise Developmen­t Authority CEFE NETT Sri Lanka, Samapath Saviya organises and implements events and training conference­s to educate Small and Medium business owners about Business Management, Skills Developmen­t and Planning. Over the past three years, Sampath Saviya has empowered over 700 entreprene­urs.

Amongst the many accolades that the Bank won are the Best CSR Practice Award in the ‘Poverty Allevation’ category at the 5th Asia Best CSR Practices Awards organised by CMO Asia. In addition, the Bank won the SLIM Brand Excellence Award for CSR Brand of the Year at the SLIM Awards 2015 and a bronze award at the Annual CSR Awards organized by The Japan-Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Associatio­n (JASTECA).
