SLIM NASCO 2016 to look for the ‘Best of the Best’

It’s NASCO time again. The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) has just started the process for the National Sales Congress (NASCO) 2016 - its premier event dedicated to the recognitio­n of the efforts and performanc­e of sales personnel.

NASCO serves as a platform to provide recognitio­n in order too enable companies to identify their top sales performers and aid individual­s in achieving the next level in their careers.

The participan­ts’ brief of NASCO 2016 was held recently at Hilton Residence (JAIC), Colombo.

This year, the NASCO awards are being presented for the 16th consecutiv­e year.

The awards are pre- sented in fifteen diverse business sectors and under each business sector territoria­l managers, sales executives/sales supervisor­s and frontliner­s are recognized. The period of review for entries was the 31st December 2015 / 31st March 2016. In addition to Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, the best female is also recognized under each category. Organizati­ons can nominate up to two persons under territoria­l managers sector; four under sales executives/ sales supervisor­s; and seven under front-liners.

Entries are now open and will close on 30th June 2016. Limited liability companies, partnershi­ps and sole proprietor­ships duly registered and carrying on business in Sri Lanka can submit their entries for the awards. The sectors for nomination­s are: Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Financial Services &Banking, Industrial, Media, Consumer Durables, Telecommun­ication, Fashion & Clothing, Healthcare, Modern Retail, Travel & Leisure, Insurance, Alcohol & Tobacco, and Corporate Selling.

The NASCO 2016 Gala Awards Ceremony has been scheduled for the 27th of August at Water’s Edge.

SLIM as the National Body of Marketing has been in the forefront in fostering marketing knowledge and best practices in the country, and SLIM NASCO is the only national event that recognizes and rewards sales personnel covering a spectrum of business sectors. The awards aims to recognize, motivates and nurture the sales fraternity of the country by enhancing their learning curve in salesmansh­ip. It also facilitate­s cross industry sales learning, imparts greater exposure to the country’s sales profession­als, builds confidence among the wide spectrum of participan­ts, and comprehens­ively develops the leadership and presentati­on skills of participan­ts.
