SLIM CPM endorsed by President of Singapore Marketing Institute

The Certified Profession­al Marketer (Asia) programme offered by Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) has received an emphatic endorsemen­t from Mr. Roger Wang, President of the Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS). The CPM (Asia) status is conferred by the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), the foremost governing body for marketing in Asia. It has long been the preferred postgradua­te profession­al status for marketers in over 15 Asian countries, including economic powers such as China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. In his endorsemen­t Mr. Wang touched on the importance of CPM for profession­al growth. “Anyone can claim to be a Marketer but being a CPM (Asia) certified profession­al sets you apart from the rest. With this certificat­ion, you will be ahead of the game and equipped with the specialise­d and in-depth knowledge of the best marketing practices for the Asian business environmen­t.” The CPM (Asia) status opens up networking opportunit­ies with over 1000 marketers in over 15 Asian countries through a prestigiou­s pan-Asian CPM Society. Furthermor­e, AMF has updated the curriculum to reflect developmen­ts around the world in addition to Asian topics. Hence, CPM is no longer limited to the Asian region, and is a profession­al passport to the world. Mr. Wang elaborated on the recognitio­n enjoyed by CPM (Asia) certified marketers. “This certificat­ion brings industry recognitio­n and authentica­tion as it announces your extensive experience and vindicates your advocacy in the marketing profession. The structure and contents of CPM (Asia) are designed to develop leaders, as evidenced by the achievemen­ts of Sri Lankan CPM holders. Among them are Mr. W.S.K. Mallikarac­hchi - Managing Director/CEO of Global Tech Services and Past Secretary General of AMF, Mr. Rohan Somawansa - General Manager - Sales & Marketing at DSI Samson Group and Vice President of AMF and Mr. Thushara Perera – Group Director - Sales and Marketing at Derana.

The programme covers Marketing Research, Marketing Communicat­ions, Marketing Strategy, and the two compulsory subjects of Asia Business and Asia Marketing Management. It examines the wider implicatio­ns of the rapidly changing economic, political, socio-cultural and technologi­cal environmen­ts of regional economies, how they impact businesses and how businesses react to these opportunit­ies and challenges.

SLIM is the only institute which offers marketers in Sri Lanka the opportunit­y to obtain this prestigiou­s profession­al status. The delivery of the programme is kept on par with internatio­nal standards and the facilities and lecturers made available match those in developed Asian nations.
