Northumbria University ranked within the Top 50 Universities in the UK
Northumbria University has been now ranked within the top 50 universities in the UK, according to the newly released Guardian University League Tables 2017. This follows the immense wave of the accolades and accomplishments Northumbria University has achieved over the past year, including Northumbria University’s win for UK’s Business School of Year award at the Times Higher Education (THE) awards 2015. The Guardian’s League Table has also placed eight of Northumbria University’s programme offerings, such as Architecture, Design and Crafts, Education, Journalism, Criminology, and Sports Sciences, within the national top 30 in the UK.
Professor Andrew Wathey CBE, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Northumbria University, said: “This result recognises the progress that we are making and reflects our clear focus on quality and putting our students at the heart of the University. It is also a reflection of the investments the University has made to improve the overall student experience and the environment in which excellent teaching can take place. It shows we are achieving what we set out to do, through a planned programme of development. Following a position in the top 50 for Research Power in the 2014 REF, a place in the Guardian's top 50 UK universities will further cement our growing reputation in the UK and internationally.”
