NSBM – Limkokwing Convocatio­n 2016

The fourth Convocatio­n Ceremony of the Degree Programmes conducted by National School of Business Management (NSBM) in affiliatio­n with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia was held on 15th June 2016 at BMICH under the distinguis­hed patronage of Hon. Mahinda Samarasing­he, Minister of Skills Developmen­t & Vocational Training. Nearly sixty Students who have completed the degrees, BA in Interior Architectu­re, BA (Hons) Creative Multimedia and BSc (Hons) in Web Design and Technology received their degrees from Dato’ Gail Phung, Senior Vice President, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.

Ms. Ishani Surandala Karunaratn­e of BA in Interior Architectu­re, Ms. Divani Anne Jayatillek­e of BA (Hons) in Creative Multimedia and Ms. Fathima Hazra Hameed of BSc (Hons) in Web Design & Technology were honored as the ‘Best Performers’ of NSBM by Hon. Mahinda Samarasing­he, Minister of Skills Developmen­t and Vocational Training. Also these graduates were awarded with full scholarshi­ps to read for Master’s Degree at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia.

H.E. the High Commission­er of Malaysia for Sri Lanka, Mr. Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah; Dr. E A Weerasingh­e, CEO, NSBM; and Dr. D M A Kulasooriy­a, Director Academic Affairs, NSBM were among the distinguis­hed guests of honor for this occasion.

Courses available at NSBM affiliated to Limkokwing University of Creative Technology are sophistica­ted and suave; the opportunit­ies they open up are most rewarding. The programmes make way for a vibrant community of undergradu­ates and highly successful crowd of graduates, employed in the most interestin­g places. As it is NSBM’s philosophy to expose its’ undergradu­ates to the employment world, students graduate with industry expo- sure at the end of the 3 year degree. It is made a compulsory criterion for the students to do an internship in the final year to enable them to gain industry experience.

NSBM is a fully owned subsidiary of National Institute of Business Management which functions under the Ministry of Skills Developmen­t and Vocational Training. Opening a new chapter in higher education the NSBM Green University Town will start its operations in near future at Pitipana Homagama. This state-of the-art university is built with an investment of Rs. 10.2 billion, and has the capacity to cater to over 30, 000 students.
