Lanka Nippon Biz Tech Institute Offers Employable Japanese Education

-

With over 300,000 students expected to sit for the Advanced Level examinations this year, the race for higher education gets tighter. Students search for degrees that will give them a better chance at lucrative employment in a tightly contested job hunt.

Recently, an article by Mr. Koga Michio, the chairman of Metatechno talks about the talented, employable students in Sri Lanka who could easily fit into Japan’s shrinking human resource industry.

He says that “as Japan enters an era of falling birthrates, an aging society, and a shrinking population, there has been a rapid decrease in the labor population, and concerns have been raised over the past three decades about Japanese industries facing a critical shortage of skilled engineers.”

With that in mind, Mr. Koga, together with one of Sri Lanka’s leading ICT companies, hSenid International will be launching the new Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) to create better opportunities for students who are willing to live and work in Japan and/or in any Japanese company in Sri Lanka or the region.

The LNBTI is scheduled to open in September 2016 and will fine-tune students through a specialized curriculum designed to ensure its graduates are well qualified and highly capable of working in any related job in Japan or any other part of the world.

Mr. Koga announced this week that a 100% scholarship programme will be available for students who qualify for entrance and meet the required criteria. The “LNBTI Japanese Scholarship Scheme” will be for the entire duration of the programme.

The LNBTI programmes take three years to complete after which students graduate with a diploma certificate and the possibility of continuing to a degree level. Along with their usual course work, students must sit for Japanese Language Proficiency Test and Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination to complete the course.

This training programme is focused on improving four language skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening. Starting from the alphabet, LNBTI hopes to provide a thorough knowledge on Japanese used in the corporate structure. This programme also targets the Japanese Language Proficiency Test – N2 level, which is an added qualification when finding a job in a Japanese company or entering a university in Japan for higher studies.

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (Nihongo Nryoku Shiken or JLPT, is a standardized criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers, covering language knowledge, reading ability and listening ability.
