Sweetshop.lkS is an online cakes and dessertsse­r delivery service in Sri Lanka with an aim to have all home bakers of Sri Lanka underund one roof – from the baking enthusiast whowh can’t afford a store to someone who bakesba as a hobby. “Our bakers hardly go for bulk orders. ThereforeT­he the quality is retained and fine detailsde are added to the fresh delights. One canc send photos and designs of their choicec and our bakers will incorporat­e it to the cakes and other goodies, “he adds.

Sweetshop has promotions such as Mother’s Day/ Father’s Day and gives the opportunit­y to surprise their loved ones withw baked goodies along with a bouquet of flowers or customized mugs. “This year’s Father’s Day promotion was a greatgre success. We offered a variety of sweet packs from specially designed cupcakes, brownies to cake jars along with a customized mug. We had many orders as our packages varied from 2000 to 2500 rupees,”he says.

Just over a year old, Sweet Shop presently has about 12 full time bakers who work out of their homes waiting for orders.

The good thing of not having a physical store to sell baked goodies is that they are fresh and delicious, he says adding that once the order is placed these bakes are delivered fresh and unique and not stored or displayed for days.

As they are home cooks, priority is given to hygiene and quality ingredient­s, so those who place their orders on sweetshop.lk are ensured a quality product made full of love and care.

At present their services are within Colombo and its suburbs, also an option for those living overseas to send these delicious baked delights to their loved ones in Sri Lanka.

Thanking the dedicated Sweetshop team behind the success in social media, Sohan says they are planning to open up a cake boutique in which home bakers can showcase their creations and also be a point of collection for customers.
