IESL College of Engineering signs agreement with Deakin University
The signing of the Articulation Agreement between Deakin University, Australia and IESL College of Engineering (IESLCE), Sri Lanka was held on 13th July 2016 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka at 9.30 am. The event graced by the presence of Chief Guest- the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mr. H E Bryce Hutchesson and others.
Following the partnership, IESLCE Students who have completed Semester 5 under new syllabus with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better will be eligi- ble to transfer credits and join Deakin University for their 3rd year studies in Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) - BCivEng(Hons) and Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Honours)– BElec&ElecEng(Hons). The two degree programmes are accredited by Engineers Australia.
Established in 1974,Deakin has a five star rating awarded by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and is ranked 36 in the QS ranking of the world’s universities under 50 years.
Established in 2011 as the education arm of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), IESLCE is a fully owned subsidiary of IESL. The college seeks to deliver engineering education in a more efficient and organized manner. The IESLCE is determined to become the best choice for tertiary education in engineering for those who have a passion to become future engineers.The IESLCE provides the students high quality education in four major fields of specialization namelyCivil , Electrical, Electronic & Telecommunication and Mechanical Engineering. IESLCE Engineering study programme comprises of 3 levels (Certificate Level (Stage I and II), Advanced Diploma Level (Stage I and II), and Graduate Diploma Level). The total duration of the study programme is four years for full time students and five years for part time students. The study programme leads to the award of Engineering Graduate Diploma making the holder eligible to obtain the Associate Membership of IESL.
