EDULINK Campus to hold event to shape future leaders with top teamwork skills
The 21st of July will see an interesting event taking place in Colombo, namely the “YOLO challenge” organized by the Rotaract Club of EDULINK International Campus
The event comprises of a series of fun filled and knowledge building activities to enable students who have just completed their ordinary level and advanced level examinations to step out of their comfort zone and to put into practice all the theory they have learnt by practically adopting them into real life scenarios that will in turn test their team spirit, time management, leadership skills, physical strength and courage.
The Director of EDULINK Campus Mr. Kanishka Weeramunda commenting on the key vision of the event said “One of the traits of an excellent leader is their ability to lead teams and successfully motivate people to challenge themselves, meet their organizational goals and deliver productive, breakthrough results for organizations. Hence learning how to foster team spirit, to collaborate and on occasion, ‘take one for the team’ is one of the key soft skills every working executive must possess. Therefore team based activities that enhance these abilities are an important ingredient of success for any graduate and this is the main aim of our event. “
The president of the Rotaract Club of EDULINK, Nipun Peiris explained the components of the event and said that each team will comprise of 5 students who will be assigned a list of instructions and clues that will entail them engaging in a series of challenging and fun activities that are broken down into three main section comprising of a Time challenge, a. Mind challenge and a Skills challenge.
Commencing at 12.30 pm, each team will be given a time limit of 4 hours to complete the whole competition. The winners will be monitored not only based on points but also on a variety of other criteria. Apart from the winning team, awards will be given for different titles throughout the series of challenges.
EDULINK strongly believes that this event would teach these potential graduates how to cultivate maximum team productivity by learning how to plan and organize for team success, learn practical skills for leading and motivating team members, understand how to navigate the stages of team development and address team challenges.

We want the younger generation to cultivate their abilities in this sphere from the very inception. Events of this nature are just the beginning of building and enhancing such traits” concluded Mr. Weeramunda.
