Asian Aviation Centre, Ratmalana 31st Anniversary Graduation Ceremony 1985-2016
The Asian Aviation Centre has been in operation since 1985 with both, a Flying and as well as an Engineering academy. Year after year the school recognizes a number of students for their above average performances.
AAC was fortunate to have Secretary , Ministry of Defence Karunasena Hettiarachchi grace the occasion as the Chief Guest whilst Dr. Peter Barrington, Head of School of Aerospace and Aircraft Engineering, Kingston University United Kingdom was present as the Guest of Honour. Chairman, Asian Aviation Centre (Pvt) Ltd Veteran Film Producer and International Award Winner Mr. Chandran Rutnam, Managing Director Ms.Nihara Jayatilleke, Chief Operating Officer Wing Commander Bandula Tennekoon (Retd SLAF) , Director of Studies Wing Commandar Sarada Mawitagama (Retd SLAF) , College Founder & Consultant Air Vice Marshal Upali Wanasinghe (Retd SLAF) ,Parents, Lecturers ,AAC staff and College Students were among the gathering.
For the 20th consecutive year a batch of talented students who are due to leave to Kingston University London next month to complete their degree, were awarded for their outstanding performance in their first two years of studies at AAC. No doubt that these students will bring honour to AAC performing exceptionally well in their final year just as the students have done so in the past at Kingston, having gained a strong foundation from the Asian Aviation Centre Engineering Academy.
The, AAC Flight Academy, Sri Lanka's Premier Centre molds youngsters to reach great heights yet again took glory for a remarkable job done by producing some of Sri Lankas finest pilots. It was truly a tribute to see these student pilots awarded at the ceremony. The College Air Craft Maintenance students have been increasingly popular not only among the National Carrier but also amongst International airlines around the world.
It is an obvious fact that the graduated students’ journey to success was made worthwhile and possible by the generous and dedicated support of the lecturer panel, the academic staff and all support staff that rendered their service to the institution on a day to day basis. Given that these youngsters have performed outstandingly well over the years, it is truly right and just to celebrate with them and to wish them all the success in their future endeavors.
