Edinburgh Napier University UK Faculty visits Spectrum Institute of Science &Technology (SIST) Sri Lanka
SIST is indeed pleased to announce that Dr. Arthur Robinson and Dr. Donald Morrison of the Edinburgh Napier University, UK will be visiting for the orientation ceremony which will be held during the last week of September.
Dr. Arthur C Robinson (BSc, PhD, FHEA) is the Programme Leader for Biomedical Science and Microbiology & Biotechnology degree courses in Sri Lanka and is a lecturer of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, Edinburgh Napier University. Dr. Donald Morrison is a Lecturer of Microbiology at the School of Applied Sciences, Edinburgh Napier University
The BSc (Hons) Microbiology and Biotechnology provides specialist skills in food, environmental and medical microbiology and biotechnology, in addition to a broad understanding of the biological sciences. The BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science is a specialized degree in the field of Biotechnology which is designed to give a broad understanding of the scientific investigation of human health and disease.
SIST as the collaborative partner of the Edinburgh Napier University (ENU), UK opened the September intake for the year 2016 for BSc (Hons) Microbiology & Biotechnology and BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science.
Both the degree programmes offered by the Edinburgh Napier University are recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka and consist of a 4th Year Research which can be completed in Sri Lanka. SIST is well geared with four state-of-the-art laboratories to provide its students with all research facilities.
SIST believes in providing students with the ultimate university experience. It does not only train its students to excel in academics, but also provides a wide array of extracurricular activities, allowing its students to develop every facet of their personal and professional careers. The institute and its students have always recognized the importance of community service and environmental conservation and addressed these areas through the activities of the Spectrum Students’ Society which is the student activity club of SIST
