CEAT Racing reigns supreme at Gajaba Supercross 2016

The CEAT Racing Team stamped its supremacy in no uncertain terms at the Gajaba Supercross 2016, winning the Champion Driver, Car Team Champions and Motorcycle Team Champions trophies after storming to 16 podium finishes at the penultimat­e event on the 2016 calendar of the Sri Lanka Auto-Sports Drivers Associatio­n (SLADA).

CEAT’s Ushan Perera was adjudged Champion Driver after winning both races in the SLGT Super Car category, and together with team-mate Malika Kuruvitaar­achchi, took the Car Team Championsh­ip, annexing the two top awards for Racing drivers. The CEAT Racing duo of Evon Biyagee Gurusinghe and Deshan Solanki won the Motorcycle Team Championsh­ip.

This was the 5th consecutiv­e Car Team Champions trophy won by CEAT Racing this year, and its 2nd Motorcycle Team Championsh­ip of the season. In all, the CEAT Racing Team secured six 1st places, six 2nd places, two 3rd places and one each of 4th and 5th places at the Gajaba Supercross, which concluded on August 28.

The CEAT Racing Team for 2016 comprised of Upulwan Serasinghe, Janaka Dias, Pasindu Peiris, Lalin Kirinda, Prasanna de Alwis, Lt.Col. Duminda Jayasinghe, Lt.Col. Indu Samarakoon, Ushan Perera, Malika Kuruvitara­chchi, Gayantha Rangana, Devin Serasinghe, Evon B. Gurusinghe and Deshan Solanki.

The team races under CEAT colours at the 5 Race meets conducted by the SLADA for the 2016 CEAT SLADA Championsh­ip. CEAT Kelani Holdings is also the title sponsor of the CEAT Sri Lanka Super Series comprising of another 4 Race meets conducted in 2016 by the Sri Lanka Associatio­n of Racing Drivers & Riders (SLARDAR).
