Prasad, Gayani crowned CP's Champion Slicers

K.G.S.J. Prasad and Gayani Ranasinghe were crowned Men’s and Women's champions at the recently concluded Central Province (CP) Carrom Championsh­ip conducted by the CP Ministry of Sports, in collaborat­ion with the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka, at the Kandy YMCA Auditorium.

This tournament was conducted to select the CP Carrom team for the National Sports Festival (NSF).

In the Men’s finals Prasad beat S.A.S. Senadi, while Gayani Ranasinghe beat Madushani Ranasinghe in the Women’s final. A.N.M. Ameer and Jeewanthi Ariyawansa won 3rd places for Men and Women respective­ly.

The championsh­ip was organised on the directions of CP Director of Sports, W.G.M. Hemantha Kumara and Provincial Sports Officer Mrs Wasana Ekanayake, with players from Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya Districts participat­ing.
