The annual event will be further boosted with an expert panel of local and foreign speakers who will share insights during two days of technical sessions, which will follow the inauguration of the conference on 19th October 2016.

Unveiling the theme of this year’s conference at a press conference in Colombo, President of CA Sri Lanka Mr. Lasantha Wickremasinghe noted that Sri Lanka has great potential and if it is to reach it’smaximum capabilities it should be an innovation driven global player.

“With Asia being the engine of growth, and as a nation belonging to this region we can gain great momentum from this growth. Therefore, our corporates need to take advantage from this growth which will ultimately reflect greatly on the national economy,” Mr. Wickremasinghe said.

He noted that the country can boost its standing as a global player by encouraging and promoting entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, which will help take Sri Lanka to the next level.

With entrepreneurship fast emerging as a transformational megatrend of the 21st century given its capacity to reshape economies and industries throughout the world, entrepreneurs can also be the lifeblood of economic growth in Sri Lanka, as they provide a source of income and employment for themselves as well as for others.

An intrapreneur is known as an entrepreneur who turns ideas into profitable products and services as an employee of a company. Intrapreneurship is a relatively recent concept that focuses on employees of a company that have many of the attributes of entrepreneurs. He also noted that the conference will explore how entrepreneurs both global and local have ventured into different aspect by choosing their own path, and also how their paths have in turn worked towards the greater good of their organisationsand the country.

“We will have the opportunity to listen to both entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs sharing their stories of success. The conference will also focus on entrepreneurs, who are millennials, who uses digitalization for entrepreneurship and how entrepreneurs use funding to reach new horizons,” Mr. Subasinghesaid.

Ms. Anoji De Silva elaborating on the technical sessions said that during the sessions, local and foreign speakers and panelists including both entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs will challenge participants to visualize what it takes to reach the next level and how to achieve success through ‘Unleashed Thinking.’
