Contd .from Page 2 Allowing students to expand in the field they wish to follow, the MUFY programme allows the custom selection of subjects, allowing for a student centered teaching system. Being a world-recognized programme, the lecturers at UCL consist of a strong academic team. All lecturers are approved by Monash, being confirmed through a rigorous interview process. They are either PhD or MBA/MSc qualified with international experience. The lecturers – 80% of who are fulltime; are acknowledged leaders in their respective fields of Engineering, and aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that extends well beyond the lecture hall.

All Engineering programmes offered at UCL consider the needs of the student first. The programmes are designed on a modular teaching and learning concept thus emphasizing on a realistic approach, helping students build on practical and problem solving skills required in a real world engineering environment. The MUFY programme teaches students to design creatively and to take an innovative approach to the development and the application of engineering technology. Supporting this teaching concept, UCL is equipped with world class Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer laboratories as all engineering programmes are catered towards a hands-on approach.

All computers at UCL are equipped with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and numerical computing software such as MATLAB to aid in design and research. Students will undertake modules in Engineering Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Computing, Engineering Materials and Thermo fluids. Progress will be ascertained through assessments, and examinations. Being a degree based programme, they will be conducted using the same standards employed at Monash, with the progress results being sent for review to Australia.

Engineers have always been the pillars of society having forged some of the greatest developments of the modern era. Recent graduates from Monash can be found working for large industrial corporations and even the banking and finance sector, while many have gone on to form their own companies. On the other hand, graduates have received opportunities to participate in research based projects that include areas such as renewable energy, nano-materials and low carbon products.

Due to these achievements, Monash University was placed 33rd in the world from which to hire graduates, as per the Global Employability Rankings 2011/14. This is a testament to the high quality and firm foundation of academic and technical problem solving skills that students stand to receive at Monash.

Students are able to enter the MUFY programme with pending O/L results. The MUFY programme establishes the necessary academic requirements to continue on to an Engineering undergraduate programme. Students with pending A/L results can enroll for Monash Diploma of Engineering, which guarantees 2nd year entry at Monash University. The next intake for the MUFY programme is in September, and the intake for Monash Diploma of Engineering is in October 2016.
