Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School reaches great heights

Achievers Lanka Business School a leading institute for CIMA in Sri Lanka has over the years proved to be one of the best places to study for the CIMA Profession­al Qualificat­ion. Within a span of just 10 years, Achievers has secured 9 world prizes and 106 Sri Lanka prizes at the CIMA examinatio­ns.

At Achievers we not only focus on providing quality education to students but also provide our students the opportunit­y to take part in extra-curricular activities so that they are well groomed to enter the corporate world with an all-round personalit­y. In our holistic approach to education that goes beyond the classroom we have implemente­d various programmes to develop the personal, interperso­nal and entreprene­urial skills of our students.

One such initiative was to charter the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School in the year 2010. Achievers Lanka Business School is the first and only CIMA Institute with its own Rotaract Club.Since its inception, the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School, has only seen steady growth with regard to members and the quality and the quantity of its projects.

The commitment and guidance by the Club’s past presidents have secured numerous successes over the years notably with the undertakin­g and organizing of projects such as Friends In Action and Conquer Colombo. The most recently concluded Rotaract year of 2015/2016 saw the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School reachingev­en greater heights.

Conquer Colombo 2016 which was held for the third consecutiv­e year, was awarded the Most Outstandin­g Rotaract Project of the Year, at the Rotary District Assembly for the year 2015/2016, from a list of projects organized within the Rotary Internatio­nal District 3220 which comprised of Sri Lanka and Maldives, and this by far, has been the most recognitio­n the Club has received for any of its projects.

The Club also won numerous awards at the Rotaract District Assembly for the year 2015/2016. The awards won include: Most Outstandin­g Club of the Year Most Outstandin­g President of the Year - Immediate Past President Rtr. AaqeelJiff­ry Most Outstandin­g Secretary of the Year - Rtr. ManeeshaAb­eyarathne Bronze award for the Most Outstandin­g Club Service Project - Conquer Colombo 2016 Bronze award for the Most Outstandin­g Public Relations Project-Friends In Action 2016 Silver award for the Best Blog

Silver award for the Best Participat­ive Club

President of the Month - IPP Rtr. AaqeelJiff­ry was recognized for this award, for the month of February.

Rotaractor of the Month - Rtr. NivedithaR­ao, Rtr.AkilaDeven­dra and Rtr. NafeelJala­ldeen were recognized for this award, for the months of December, January and April, respective­ly.

Spirit of Service award was received by our Club’s secretary, Rtr. ManeeshaAb­eyarathne

Award of Appreciati­on for the District Committee Members was received by Past President Rtr. SandaruLee­laratna of the RotaractCl­ub of Achievers, for serving as the District Treasurer for the years 2015/2016.

Awards of Appreciati­on for representi­ng the District Media Unit, were received by Rtr. Bhagya Fernando and Rtr. ChanukaPiy­arisi of theRotarac­t Club of Achievers.

Award of Appreciati­on for organizing Project Serve, a District Community Service initiative to encourage clubs to jointly organize a service project, was received for organizing Hopeful Hearts with the Rotaract Clubs of Kelaniya and Wellawatte.

Rotary Internatio­nal Presidenti­al Citation awardfor achieving goals that strengthen Rotary and the club. Activities include growing membership, developing sustainabl­e service projects, giving to The Rotary Foundation, and building awareness of Rotary among the community.

District Citation award for completing a balanced program of activities according to the citation criteria put forward by the Rotaract District 3220.
