LAHRC embarks on exciting new ventures

-

LAHRC Banquets and Resorts is the parent company of a number of entities from hotels to a country club to catering. Constantly introducing innovative concepts, LAHRC’s latest venture of offering banqueting facilities at Havelock City has already attracted a number of customers.

Due to its strategic location, Havelock City is within easy access to visitors. The three venues; “The Pavilion”, “The Orchard” and “The Waterfront” have already gained a reputation for creating a different ambiance. The Pavilion is an opulent multi-purpose hall equipped with controlled lighting and has the capacity to accommodate 250 guests or up to 600 guests seated theater style and ideal for storybook weddings.

“The Orchard” is a hall that offers a serene, natural setting, that can accommodate up to 70 guests. “The Waterfront” offers a view of the swimming pools and can accommodate up to 100 guests for cocktails, and even product launches.

The company has several plans in place to better cater to the needs of their custom- ers. As such, the Regent Country Club in Malabe will be further expanded to include a second banqueting hall with a capacity to house 450- 500 pax. Due to its location, the Regent Country Club is in the neighbourhood of several institutions such as the Horizon College, SLIIT, the Dr Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital and the BIyagama Free Trade Zone. Mr Ranshan Gomez, Director also stated that the country club will additionally offer an entertainment centre that these institutions and entities can use, adding “a little flavor to Malabe,” as Mr Gomez said.

The phase 2 of construction will also involve the construction of badminton and squash courts, a spa facility catering to the members and a members’ lounge, where the members and their families can spend time without being disturbed by the activities taking place elsewhere within the premises.

The company has also reinvented the menu for Regent Caterers, giving the customers an opportunity to experience better, food options. The newly revamped menu offers better prices and options to the customers, thereby making events hassle free.

In many of their endeavours, one of the most prominent features is the company’s dedication to provide quality food to the customers. The Chariot Restaurants has now begun to cater to schools as well, so that the Sri Lankan youth have the option of eating a balanced diet within the school. “We can offer something that a lot of others can’t offer,” said Mr Gomez, going on to explain that while children may favour the less healthy food options, the parents and the teachers would prefer for the child to receive a more healthy diet.

However, healthy does not mean unappetizing. The company offers a selection of 30 food items categorized into salads, sandwiches and main courses. The school children will also be issued with a loyalty card, through which, parents can pre-order the child’s food by setting up an online account, reducing the cash transaction. The card can also be used to make over the counter purchases, and their parents would later receive a detailed report of what their child had ordered. Furthermore, with the recent opening of the Chariot Restaurant in Union Place, the company unveiled its recently relaunched logo and look. The outlet will be the first of many outlets to embrace the newly revamped, vibrant

and attractive look for the restaurant.
