Going the Extra Mile to ensure your Educational Success

-

“The diversity of people in Swinburne University is amazing! There are massive lecture halls and you constantly meet so many people from different walks of life. There is nothing more that I enjoy than meeting new people and making friends” said Senal Ranaweera who is currently reading for his Bachelors of International Business at the Hawthorne campus, Swinburne University of Technology. Senal explained that he is currently busier than he ever has been in his life yet is enjoying the experience thoroughly.

Benefits in enrolling through NCHS

“As NCHS is an affiliated college you are basically students at Swinburne but you have the advantage of getting more help with your studies with one-on-one help from the excellent teaching staff and the smaller class rooms. This also means that you have full access to the blackboard online system from the start. All of this helps to make the transition as smooth as it can be” Senal said. He said that while the transition is often the most challenging period in a student’s life, being a part of NCHS gave them the winning edge.

“My time at NCHS greatly helped me to get used to what is expected from university standards, and it was more like an introduction to what to expect at Hawthorn and i think it greatly helped me to settle down” he elaborated with a smile.

Advice to prospective students

My advice is to get the most out of your time at NCHS and once you’re done, fly out to Melbourne with an open mind ready to expand your horizons. The staff at NCHS are very friendly and you can go to them anytime with no prior appointments. It’s the best place to get used to how the university system works and get used to before you fly out to Melbourne. It will make your life so much easier” Senal advised.

They are given the option of choosing to do a degree of their choice on completion of the 2 years at NCHS” said Dr. Alan Robertson, Dean, NCHS.
