-

Lakith Weerasinghe of Gateway International Rajagiriya recently became the first student of Scholarships for USA (Pvt) Ltd to be placed at Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania USA.

Sri Lanka’s only recruiter who works exclusively with US colleges and universities was invited to visit W&J in the summer of ‘12 and Dissanayakes were suitably impressed with the top private liberal arts & sciences school located in Washington PA, a 30 minute drive from Pittsburgh. What impressed them most were the history (the 11th oldest U.S. college, Founded in 1781 by graduates of Princeton) size of the school (1,460 total enrollment), with student to faculty ratio of 10:1 and the top notch professors dedicated to life time teaching. SUSA was also very impressed with the generous scholarships W&J agreed to offer Lankan stars.

Lakith an all round star from Gateway planning to major in Business had no hesitation of selecting Washington & Jefferson, among 10 attractive and competitive offers from as many schools from Montana to Ohio and from Minnesota to Iowa. Each school offered him generous scholarships, part-time work and summer internships. But what Lakith found most advantageous was the advanced placements offered by each school based on his stellar A-Ls sometimes saving almost a year.

SUSA, dedicated since ‘01 to make US education increasingly affordable to Sri Lankan middle class and having assisted over 300 students from all corners of the island continues to assist more to access the world’s number one education with most generous scholarships. It also prides itself introducing the “hidden gems of US Midwest” to Lankan families seeking instant admissions with highest financial aid. SUSA is encouraged and driven by multiple success stories emanating across US of their past placements. SUSA is proud to have played an important role in making global professionals through US liberal arts education.
