CA Sri Lanka’s BSc. Applied Accounting fast becoming one of the country’s most sought after degrees
The BSc. Applied Accounting degree offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) is today becoming one of the country’s most sought after degree programmes that has also been recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.
The degree programme has not only attracted a large number of students from Sri Lanka, but even foreign students are following the degree due to it’s very contemporary curriculum which aims to produces employable graduates with the required skills, competencies and industry knowledge.
Registrations are currently open for the September 2016 intake, and students who have successfully completed the local GCE Advanced Level or the London Advanced Level (Edexcel/Cambridge) examinations with three passes can register for the programme.
Professionals who are employed and looking to enhance their academic knowledge in the accounting filed also have the option of following the CA Sri Lanka BSc. Applied Accounting degree on a part time basis.
The BSc. Applied Accounting degree programme offered by CA Sri Lanka is approved by the University Grants Commission is also equivalent to the degrees offered by the state universities in Sri Lanka. CA Sri Lanka is the only institute in the country that offers both a recognized professional qualification and an academic degree in the field of accountancy.

The degree has also received endorsements from leading universities and professional organisations abroad, with Australia’s La Trobe University and CPA Australia entering into a partnership with CA Sri Lanka. The accreditation allows students who have completed the BSc. (Applied Accounting) degree programme to gain into the CPA programme as an Associate Member of CPA Australia, while La Trobe University allows students who have completed two years of the BSc. (Applied Accounting) degree in Sri Lanka, to enter into a specialized scheme allowing students to complete their undergraduate degree and get preferential entry through a streamlined process to complete a Master’s degree. This scheme has an option of providing students with post study work rights (PSWR) Australia.
