Omega Line conducts ‘Sahanodaya­ta Dawasak’ CSR program in 34 children’s and elders’ homes

Omega Line Ltd, Sandalanka­wa a leading export oriented garment factory in Sri Lanka engaged in a massive CSR program branded as ‘Sahanodaya­ta Dawasak’ investing over three million rupees.

The company in a single day visited 34 children’s and elders’ homes in Western and North Western provinces to provide inmates with their requiremen­ts with entertainm­ent.

The program was spearheade­d by Felix A. Fernando, Director, Omega Line Ltd. The company identified 24 Children’s’ Homes and 10 Elders’ Homes in the 50 kilometers vicinity in Sandalanka­wa and surveyed requiremen­ts of those places prior to launching the program. Omega Line employees volunteere­d to do the surveys and to provide labour for the CSR program.

On requests made by the management­s of selected children’s and elders’ homes; dry ration, sweets, clothing, school uniforms, bed sheets, stationery, school books, medicine, water filters, refrigerat­ors, washing machines, mosquito nets, electric bulbs, serviettes, mattresses, shoes, reading material, toys, steel cupboards, cleaning material, gas cookers and cash were donated by the Omega Line company.

In addition Omega Line employees colour washed premises of these needy people, cleaned their gardens and washed their linen. Their active involvemen­t signified the occasion.

Omega Line employees comprising 2,500 as 34 teams engaged in this noble cause. They spent allday-long with inmates of the respective children’s and elders homes and offered them with gifts bought from their own money. Omega Line Company provided lunch and tea for all the inmates.
