“CHEMEX” from a student’s perspective

-

Everything has its hidden mysteries and science too is still in the process of being unraveled. In the process of its revelation we bring to you “CHEMEX”,an initiative of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. “CHEMEX” Educational exhibition and Trade fair is happening for the fourth time on the 26th, 27th and 28th of January 2017 at the SLECC (Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Center). Under the theme “Role of Chemists for a better future”, the institute is planning on reaching out to a vast audience comprising mostly students, with the goal of enriching and enlightening them on the many different branches of chemistry and its applications. It also focuses on empowering the young minds to explore the chemist within and to instill the spark and passion towards its further study.

The stalls would be based on narcotics, toxicology and pharmaceuticals, physical and computational chemistry, laboratory testing and research, analytical chemistry, cosmetics, food industry, polymer chemistry, natural products etc. Advanced level chemistry practical stalls would be conducted along with magic shows which would make the walk through the stalls all the more fascinating. With the aid of various state agencies and media sponsors along with many eminent figures in the field of science, CHEMEX 4 is coming…this time bigger and better….
