Lyceum ready to equip the youth of Sri Lanka at LISMUN 2016
LISMUN 2016, organized by Lyceum International School - Nugegoda is scheduled to kick off from the17th - 19th of December is bench-marked as Sri Lanka’s largest Model UN training conference, expected to attract more that 350 delegates from all parts of the island. Organised for the 3rd consecutive year, the conference standards have continued to improve and are gaining in both proportion and quality.
This year the conference promises diversity and vibrancy and a holistic learning experience to all participants. In fact the introduction of specialised committees such the Arab League and International Court of Justice will enable more experienced delegates to broaden their exposure while the novices and junior delegates will get an opportunity to debate on contemporary and futuristic topics that have been meticulously selected to add substance and value.
This year’s executive committee is a combination of both senior and junior members who have been selected based on their MUN exposure and critical subject knowledge to lead their respective committees. This will ensure the quality of debate is enriched and thereby enhance the learning outcome.
Mrs.Kumari Grero, Principal of Lyceum International School - Nugegoda along with the sports department have extended their support to ensure that the school is geared to facilitate the conference and ensure a fulfilling delegate experience.
International politics is ever changing and sparks multifaceted complexities, which calls for smart negotiation, solid strategies and a robust foreign policy. The proficiency in international diplomacy is hence considered as one of paramount importance and only a structured programme and competency building will enable the next generation of leaders to effectively grapple with such global issued and reach the best possible compromise. Initiatives of this nature are proven to effectively equip the youth of Sri Lanka to take on there challenges on a global scale and LISMUN 2016 is an attempt to facilitate just this! Taamara de Silva
