Volvo enters Sri Lanka opening stateof-the-art showroom at Peliyagoda

Swedish car brand Volvo Car Group has entered Sri Lanka in a big way by appointing IWS Holdings Group as its local importer and distributo­r and opening a state-of-the-art showroom and fully-fledged service facility in Peliyagoda recently.

Volvo Cars Sri Lanka, a new subsidiary under the IWS Holdings Group, hosted the grand launch of its 20,000 square foot 3S facility which will provide sales, service and spare parts with an investment of Rs. 250 million to offer customer services that are on par with global standards.

As Volvo's new official importer and dealer in the country, Volvo Cars Sri Lanka has introduced a range of models such as the award-winning XC90, V40, S60, XC60 and the new S90 which was officially unveiled during the launch.

The S90 which is built on Volvo's advanced modular product platform with automotive safety with extended functional­ity of Volvo's Safety features.

The S90 has already gained global recognitio­n, and recently won the Award for Design of the Year at the Geneva Motor Show.

"The company will offer a facility that provides multiple services which were previously not provided by an automotive firm in Sri Lanka IWS Holdings Chairman Arthur Senanayake said adding that they wanted to be the official agent for this brand because it provides unparallel­ed quality that is recognised throughout the world.

"IWS Holdings is investing a significan­t amount of money to start up the Volvo Cars business in Sri Lanka and the state of the art full service new Volvo Car deal- ership provides unparallel­ed service for all customers," said Volvo Car Group Asia Pacific Vice President Jari Kohonen. "The Volvo Centre is equipped with a Volvo fitting lounge and customer lounge, providing customers with a unique and engaging Scandinavi­an experience," another official said.
