Launches Occupation­al English Test (OET) for the first time in Sri Lanka

- About OET

Occupation­al English Test (OET),the English language test for healthcare profession­als openedits firsttest venue in Sri Lanka with the Australian College of Business and Technology (ACBT), Colombo .

OET launch was held at Kingsbury on 9th January 2017 with the participat­ion of the Australian officials of OET and the Regional Head of Cambridge English Language assessment­s. We highly appreciate the participat­ion of our Guest of Honor Dr. LakKumar Fernando, the President of Sri Lanka College of Pediatrici­ans and the Clinical Head/Center for Clinical Management of Dengue and Dengue Hemorrhagi­c fever, for spending his valuable time with us for the developmen­t of the health care sector in Sri Lanka.

OET (Occupation­al English Test) is an Australian-developed English language test which assesses language communicat­ion skills of healthcare profession­als. It provides assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – through test material designed to reflect real healthcare scenarios. The new Sri Lanka test venue will be managed by the Australian College of Business and Technology in Colombo.

OET is an internatio­nal English language test that assesses the language communicat­ion skills of healthcare profession­als who seek to register and practise in an English-speaking environmen­t. It is taken by healthcare profession­als wanting to practice in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore and results are accepted by health regulatory boards and councils, and the Australian Department of Immigratio­n and Border Protection for various visa categories.
