Register at Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) before registering for Foreign MBBS degree

-

Dear Parents, As A/L results have released, all of you are looking for ways of Foreign Higher Education and I anticipated the importance of acknowledging the parents about the correct path for foreign MBBS. You need to contact SLMC or visit their web site ( www.srilankamedicalcouncil. org) to check the recognition of the university that you are interested in. It will avoid the circumstances occurred after going to an unrecognized university and it will save your time and money. And also it is advisable to get the service from a very trustful institute such as British Council and Russian Education Center as they are the pioneers of overseas education in Sri Lanka.

I once visited Russian Education Center which has collaborated with the Cultural Section of the Russian Embassy and got details regarding the process of selecting and registering a foreign medical university. I notify the collection of details below for the betterment of Sri Lankan future doctors.

Q: Why Russian MBBS degree is important to students?

Good question. Our children wish to enter a government university in Sri Lanka but the A/L results will pave their way to another path. Government Universities will take only a few number of students and others have to go to private universities. But researches have shown that the quality and the recognition given by government universities cannot be found in private universities.

We send students to Russian State Universities which has the recognition and the unique quality worldwide. Our representative universities are recognized by the SLMC, WHO and medical councils of all the countries in the world such as USA, UK, Australia and EU.

Q: Is it in English medium or Russian Medium?

Many people think that stu- dents have to study in Russian medium. But now you have the opportunity to study fully in English medium. Russia has been giving scholarships to Sri Lankan students from the past and they had to study in Russian Medium at that time. But now the things have changed. The university has started to give their education in English medium as many international students are arriving to Russia for higher studies.

Q: When can we apply for the universities and what are the minimum requirements?

To study Medicine, the SLMC requires 2 Credit Passes and 1 Simple Pass as the minimum requirement and pre medicine courses are not recognized. Students cannot work in Sri Lanka if you do not have this minimum result in A/L.

Students can apply in February and September for Kursk State Medical University in Russia and you need to apply before 20th of January for this February intake 2017. Tver State Medical University will take students only in September intake.

Q: What are the services given by Russian Education Center (REC)?

Answer – Students get the best universities which conduct in English medium and the fees are the lowest than any other university. The universities are funded by the Russian government and our children pay only a fare amount similar to a Russian student. REC offers a Free Introductory course for registered students and it commenced on every Sunday at 9.00am to 1.00pm at Nugegoda Rotary Hall.

Anyone can join who wish to study in Russia and call 0711808080 / 0711-707070 for more details.

REC guaranty Visa and provide 24Hr security in the university. REC provides the ERPM guidance for all our students while they are studying in the university and as a result of that the passing rate of our students is higher than all the others. And we are proud to announce that we guide them to work in other countries as well. The modern hostels, unique study environment, educational loan facilities within 3 days are other services given by REC.

Q: How much is the cost to Study in Russia?

Parents have to spend a big amount to make their child’s dream come true in many countries. But children get the chance to study for a very low fee in Russia as you can start within $2100 which means Rs.315000. Main purpose of the Russian Universities is not to gain profits but to give the best of the higher education and contribute professionals to the future.
