The Annual Zonal English Awards Ceremony - 2016’ of the Zonal Education Office, Kalutara

The Annual Zonal English Awards Ceremony - 2016’ of Zonal Education Office, Kalutara was held on Tuesday 29th of November 2016 at the Auditorium of Agamathi Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Panadura under the patronage of the assistant Director of Education (English), Mrs.Indrani Kommala and the board of Directors of the Zonal Education Office.

This event held for the second consecutive year for felicitating Zonal, Provincial and National winnwrs and participants of English Day Language ,Drama and Group Choir competitions-2016 was graced by Dr. Chandra Amarasekara, the consultant to the National Institute of Education and the former dean of the faculty of Languages and Social Science, University of Sabaagamuwa as the chief Guest together with Mr. Anton Nallathambi,the director of Asia Foundation, Mr.Sarath Kaluarachchi,the head of the Business School, Mr.Dilshan Samarasekara, the marketing manager, Miss.Indeewaree Dadanthanna, the lecturer of the Asia Pacific Institue of Information Technology (APIIT), Wijesinghe Kodagoda the former Director of English (Southern Province), Mrs, Deepthi Fonseka,the Zonal Director of Kelaniya, Mrs. Nayana Gunarathne, the ADE(English)-Mathugama,Mrs. Methsila Rathnayake, ADE(TT)Jayawaradanapura, Mrs.Nadeeka Peiris, DDE-Bandaragama the principals, ISAs, teachers, well wishers and students of Kalutara Zone.

130 Zonal winnwrs, 41 provincial Winners, 4 Natioanl winners, 7 National Level Participants and 25 Drama and Choir Groups were awarded gold medals and cups at the ceremony.
