Moors SC fight back with bold reply

Moors SC fought back thanks to brave batting by Primosh Perera, Pabasara Waduge and Shanuka Dulaj against Badureliya SC on day two in the Premier Plate Championsh­ip cricket encounter played at the BRC ground.

Primosh was associated in two valuable partnershi­ps. First was of 59 for the second wicket with Pabasara and the other of 55 runs for the fourth wicket with Shanuka Dulaj helping Moors SC to go into the lunch break with a score of 157 for 3.

Earlier Sahan Wijeratne hit 102 that included nine boundaries for Badureliya SC taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 300.

BRC were making smooth progress against Bloomfield in the match played at Panagoda as they went into the lunch break with a score of 150 for 3.

Earlier Bloomfield resuming from their overnight score of 290 for 8 which came on the back of a valuable partnershi­p of 152 runs for the third wicket between skipper Nipun Karunanaya­ke and Nisal Fransisco made 317.

Milinda Siriwarden­a steered Saracens SC with an unbeaten knock of 104. He was involved in two fruitful partnershi­ps. The first was of 64 runs for the second wicket with Sangeeth Cooray and the other of 109 runs for the fourth wicket with Umesh Karunaratn­e. This helped them end the morning (Nipun Karunanaya­ke 98, Nisal Fransisco 79, Lahiru Fernando 33, Vinodh Perera 31, Imran Khan 24, Adeesha Nanayakkar­a 21: Dinuka Hettiarach­chi 6 for 103, T.N. Sampath 3 for 85) BRC 150 for 3 (Bhanuka Rajapakse 52, Lasith Lakshan 44, Lisula Lakshan 29: Malith de Silva 3 for 36)
