Vindula Perera, a proud product of St. Joseph’s College firmly established his academic prowess with his stellar performance at the 2016 GCE A/L examinations, where he was placed Island 2nd in the Commerce Stream. Vindula is an exemplary student because he was not only focused on academic activities, but also engaged in a variety of extra-curricular activities at school; he was a member of the much-acclaimed Josephian choir and was appointed as a Senior Prefect at school. He has also played cricket.

Not wanting to waste any time after his A/Ls, Vindula immediately enrolled for ACCA at Mercury, long before his A/L results were released. He stated, “I have always wanted to pursue a career in accounting and finance, and I felt that ACCA was the most “global” qualification that would help me achieve my goals. Once I decided on ACCA, Mercury Institute was the obvious choice as a tuition provider because of their pass rates, countless prizewinners and reputation as an institute of high standing. Special thanks to my parents, school teachers and Accounting Sir Mr. Nilantha Agampodi for the unending support and all the knowledge bestowed upon me…”

Vinethri Piyadasa of Musaeus College is another student of Mercury who demonstrated a very high level of academic performance at the 2016 GCE A/L examinations. She was placed Island 4th in the Other Streams category and is also one of Mr. Nilantha Agampodi’s accounting students.

Vinethri too commenced ACCA at Mercury right after sitting for her A/L’s. She stated, “After A/L’s, there are so many options out there in terms of higher education. But you need to make sure the qualification you pick is the right fit for you, is globally recognized and ideally, something that makes you more employable, and that is why I picked ACCA. As a student of ACCA who has just completed Stage 1 at Mercury, I can confidently say that ACCA’s curriculum covers all aspects of accounting, finance, busi- ness and management and coming to Mercury was definitely the right decision. Mercury’s lecturers are very knowledgeable and practical in their approach and also make classroom learning a fun experience!”
