How many of you are able to enter the medical faculty of the state universities even though you have good grades? The trend is obviously because of lack of seats and very high competition, this is where you need to explore other practical options. The objective of this article is to point out what the options are The basic requirement the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) has set for the students to follow a medical degree outside Sri Lanka is two credit passes and a simple pass in any three of the subjects in Bio Stream. It can be an AL from Sri Lanka, Cambridge or Edexcel/Pearson.

If you meet theSLMC criteria, it is high time you decide about your budget and the nature of the foreign Medical College you would enter There are state medical universities where generally the academic fee is comparatively lower than of a Private Medical College. “MD” (Doctor of Medicine) and MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) are the two degree awards conferred by medical schools depending on the particular country’s medical education curriculum. There are a few differences between these awards (MD and MBBS) which include the dura- tion and study contents. SLMC has listed the foreign medical schools that have been recognized by them. You should ensure the foreign medical school you select is duly recognized by the SLMC. ,
