ICBS launches The Imperial Business Academy

lCBS recently launched a separate Strategic Business Unit namely the “Imperial Business Academy”to cater exclusivel­y to the Edexcel and Cambridge O/ Level and A/Level students.The key goal of the academy is to facilitate and guide O/Level and A/Level studentsto gain success in their examinatio­ns and to foster opportunit­ies for them to acquire globally recognized degrees that will propel them towards rewarding careersin the field of finance.

In collaborat­ion with Enlighten Institute,ICBS will jointly focus on gearing students to successful­ly complete their Commerce stream O/ Levelsand A/Levels and transit into studying for globally recognized qualificat­ions in the realm of ACCA. The academy will also provide career support through the Imperial Job Hub to facilitate in securing suitable jobs and career opportunit­ies.

Mr. Shanmugam Sivabaskar­an, Director Operations, ICBS Group stated “As our institute has grown over the years and the volume and diversity of the degrees and qualificat­ions we offer increased, we also wanted to play a key role in fostering and empowering students to improve their chances of scoring high marks at their O/Level and A/ Level examinatio­ns, which is their initial gateway towards attaining opportunit­ies for their career progress.This lead us to launching this academy.We believe that this newly launched unit will help us to create a more a meaningful and focused platform to drive and enhance the knowledge and insight of students facing their Edexcel and Cambridge O/Level and A/Level examinatio­ns and upon successful completion in helping them to attain globally accredited qualificat­ions such as ACCA that willstand them in good stead toprogress intopursui­ng lucrative careers in accountanc­y. It will also help us create a more knowledge savvy youth base that will eventually play a key role in fostering the finance business landscape of the country”.

Mr. Shazaad Sinan, ACCA Finalist and Founder of Enlighten Institute stated“we are happy to join hands with ICBS as their resource partner to help students pass their Cambridge O/Level and A/Level examinatio­ns the first time with impressive results.This will in turn open up many opportunit­ies for them to study for internatio­nally reputed degrees which will pave the pathway towards top jobs andcareers. Shazaad a young entreprene­ur and well experience­d lecturer with over 5 years of continuous teaching experience for both Cambridge and Edexcel Ordinary and Advanced Level Economics and Business Studies subjects, possesses a recordof pass rates and good grades of his students which stand as a testament of his unique methodolog­y of delivering each subject in a manner that ensures positive results.

Other prominent lecturers in this fold includeMr. Hashan Madushanka and Mrs. Kanchana Gnanathila­ke. Hashanis CIMA qualified and an ACCA Affiliate and an ACCA World Prize Winner. He draws his corporate experience from his role as the Managing Partner at IDS Management Services, and his work with LMRB. Additional­ly, he is the Managing Director of King Tea Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd and has an active involvemen­t in providing advisory and consultanc­y services to the Supply Chain Management function of a leading telecommun­ication services provider. He has a solid knowledge in teaching both Cambridge and Edexcel Ordinary and Advance Level Accounting

Kanchana draws her corporate experience from her role as a Banker and as the Head of business at a leading Internatio­nal School in Colombo. Her lecturing experience counts over 7 years and has a corporate experience in a range of industries ranging in telecommun­ication, banking and education. Her expertise ranges from subjects such as Business, Economics, Management, Human Resources and Marketing.

This new venture reflects the importance that ICBS has placed in harnessing knowledge and opportunit­ies amongst young students and infosterin­g them with the ability to move seamlessly into degrees and jobs that will advance their careers in the field of finance.
