Additional benefits under students' Health Insurance scheme: Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education ( MoE) intends to provide additional benefits to schoolchildren, under the proposed Health Insurance scheme offered to them in the Budget.

The MoE has already called for bids from Insurance companies to implement the scheme, which will benefit some 4.5 million students between the ages of 5-19, from mid this year.

Students in Government schools, Government-approved Private schools, Private and International schools registered in Sri Lanka, will benefit from the scheme.
