SL to train Maldivian teachers: AVK

On a request by the Government of the Maldives to provide training for Maldivian teachers, a Memorandum of Understanding is to be signed in the Maldives between the respective Ministers of Education, said Education Minister Akila Vi r a j Kariyawasam.

He said instructions have been given to the National Institute of Education, to undertake the training programme, which will improve sharing of knowledge as well as attract foreign exchange.

The Minister said this at the opening of a Teacher Training C e n t re (TTC) at Sri Jayawardenapura. It is planned to develop 109 TTCs to provide training to local and international Trainee Teachers.
