Jackie Kennedy Onassis, 62, wanted a date with Alec Baldwin when he was 33

It's funny how the tables have turned for Alec Baldwin, 59, whose wife, Hilaria, is 33. When Baldwin was 33, he was the object of the affection of then-nearly-62 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who at the time asked her close friend to secure a date between them, as revealed in his memoir, according to People.

James Hart published Lucky Jim on Tuesday, the story of his life that included much detail about the wife of assassinated President John F. Kennedy by virtue of their longstanding friendship.

Hart's ex-wife of 20 years, Carly Simon, was a 'kindred spirit' to Jackie O, according to an article in Vanity Fair published one year after she died in 1994 at the age of 64.

But two years prior to her death, the former First Lady was full of life, playful, and open about sharing her crushes on famous men, according to Hart.

Onassis would ask Hart for his opinion on the opposite sex, he wrote.

"Well, do you think Alec could be my date for the theater on my birthday?" Hart wrote that she asked him.

"I was surprised by the openness of the request, but I acted as though there was nothing unusual about it," he wrote in his book. "Alec was most shocked of all, but there wasn’t a moment’s hesitation, even though he had just met Kim Basinger."

The memoir goes on to relay how Hart's later conversation with Baldwin played out.

"I’m there," he wrote that Baldwin said. "You sure?" Hart asked. "Are you kidding? Jackie Kennedy wants to go on a date?" Hart wrote that Baldwin said. "Of course."

Coincidentally, Alec Baldwin also released a memoir this month. His book, Nevertheless: A Memoir, was published on April 4.

Hart's book revealed other alleged details about the private interactions of Onassis as well, like an interaction she had with Simon early on in their friendship.

"So, who would you say is the sexiest man you’ve ever been with?" Hart wrote that his then-wife asked Onassis.

"Jackie answered without hesitation," he wrote. "She answered as though she had been eager to tell someone for a long time just so she could share the thrill of the surprising nature of her answer. Her face broke into a large smile, and her breathy voice filled with delight as she answered."

Onassis was married to Kennedy in September 1953. Kennedy became president in 1961 and was assassinated on November 22, 1963.

Onassis was born in Southampton, New York in 1929 and died in Manhattan on May 19, 1994.
