Max. loan up to Rs 800.000 for Higher Education
The decision to provide an interest- free loan scheme to undergraduates to follow Degree programmes in non- State Degree- awarding institutions, was approved by the Cabinet on Tuesday.
The Education Times last week exclusively reported that the Govt. was considering the proposal.
The 2017 Budget proposed loans of up to a maximum of Rs. 800,000, for Higher Education to students unable to enter State universities due to their z-Score.
The selection of students will be based on the z-Score of 2014 and 2015 A/L results, and implement its first steps through the National School of Business Management.
