The profession of Chartered Corporate Secretaries in Sri Lanka

The Chartered Corporate Secretary is governance professional and occupies a strategic position within an organization.

The Institute of Chartered Corporate Secretaries of Sri Lanka (ICCS) is the sole body in Sri Lanka that can award the qualification of a Chartered Corporate Secretary. On completion of the programmer of study, successful candidates qualify to register themselves with the Registrar of Companies as Company Secretaries. The ICCS is registered with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka as an official body to conduct classes, examinations and issue certificates for the prestigious qualification of Chartered Corporate Secretary. ICCS is also registered with the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) and has been classified in the Group of Management Professionals in the OPA. The Institute is also a member of the Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA) which is a world body of Corporate Secretaries.

The Company Secretary is a high level professional holding senior status in a private sector or public sector organiasation in the form of a managerial or higher position.
