Prepping SL Corporates for the Digital Future

-

In a world where over a 170 million people use social media on a regular basis, every working professional is expected to be familiar with at least the core tenets of Digital Marketing. This is why we at The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management’s local partner, ANC Omega (Pvt.) Ltd. took the initiative and invited Akvile Pareigyte who is a regional Google trainer as well as a digital evangelist, to Sri Lanka in March 2017 to roll out an innovative workshop to some of the elite staff members of the biggest brand names in Sri Lanka such as Associated Motorways (AMW), Commercial Bank, Shangri-La Hotels, Janashakthi Insurance, Thilanka Hotels, Sampath Bank, Free Lanka Trading , Waters Edge and Triad Advertising. Apart from these major corporates, the training was also graced by multi industry veterans Jeff Gunawardena, Director, Airport and Aviation Services and Thilanka Hotel Group as well as Chandra Mohotti, Chairman, Eastern Province Tourism Bureau as well as the Chairman, Hospitality and Tourism Skills Development Council of the Ministry of Vocational Training. Both these veterans shared their views and desires on the current digital marketing initiatives being carried out in the nation, whether it be destination marketing or brand positioning towards gaining a competitive advantage over Asian counterparts.

This training on ‘Digital Marketing for Corporates’ was held at Taj Samudra on the 23rd & 24th of March 2017. This consisted of both practical and technical content. Therefore, it was both enthusiastic and informative to all participants.
