AMDT: Everybody needs to be Creative

-

Career is the first thing on most people’s mind once you leave school. The recent past has seen a shift in career preference among youngsters from the traditional to non-traditional choices. Creative children face the challenge of turning their unlimited imagination into a successful career. Most are forced to go into secure traditional careers, ending up successful but unhappy.

In 2005, two ‘Artrepreneurs’ Satheesh Kumar and Vinodi Jayawardane decide to challenge this status quo in Sri Lanka by founding the Academy of Multimedia & Design Technology, since then, AMDT has inspired countless young students to create successful creative careers over the past 12 years.

Today, our students are career Fashion Designers, Photographers, Filmmakers, Animators, Game Developers, Graphic Designers, Advertising professionals and Marketers. We have inspired many to turn into ‘Artrepreneurs’ themselves and start up innovative creative businesses.

Having come a long way from our pioneering days, we now offer the most comprehensive courses that are designed for your choice. The internationally renowned Pearson BTEC (previously known as Edexcel) has recognized AMDT as an accredited approved institution. All students are expected to conform to the stringent global standards of Pearson BTEC in the UK. This significant certification helps you pursue your creative career locally or anywhere in the world.

At no time has there been more opportunity in highly competitive creative industries such as Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, 3D Animation, Visual Effects, Film & Music Video Production, Photography, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Advertising, Game Design & Development, Digital Marketing, etc. Sri Lanka is hungry for new talent who can combine technical skill with their imagina- tion to create world class creative ideas.

In keeping with our original vision, AMDT is determined to make the study of creative arts accessible to all Sri Lankans, breaking many of the entry barriers that existed before. We are keen to design an identity for our country and inspire the next generation of ‘Artrepreneurs’ who will drive Sri Lanka forward by boldly creating creative careers.
