‘Gal Match 2017’ Brought Sri Lankan Geologists As One…

‘Gal Match’ –the annual get-together organized by University Geological Society of University of Peradeniya was recently concluded at the university grounds with the participation of geology students, academic and non academic staff of the Geology Department and the Geology Alumni. The event featured a series of entertaining activities along with a cricket tournament. The ‘Gal Match’ provided a broad platform for the geology students to make strong their interactions with the Geological community of Sri Lanka.

“Having grown under the Faculty of Science, University Geological Society is one of the oldest and most active student societies in the University of Peradeniya. It organizes several events annually and the “Gal Match” is one such event in their annual program which strengthens the relationship among geology undergraduate students, staff of the department and the geological community of Sri Lanka. This kind of events is important for the students to develop their overall personality, communication skills, and corporate etiquette while driving a right attitude towards leadership and team works. Therefore I hope the ‘Gal Match’ is a good opportunity for the students to improve their caliber in many ways” said Prof. Rohana Chandrajith (Head, Department of Geology) at welcoming the gathering to this exciting event.
