The Swinburne Manufactur­ing Futures Research Institute is the strategic juncture between design, business, engineerin­g and informatio­n systems. Other issues of significan­ce include the role of Australia in bespoke manufactur­ing of high value goods, developing of new materials, making the Australian manufactur­ing base more agile and productive and also the implementa­tion of Industry 4.0 strategies.
