Leadership tips for Children 101

-

Parents often complain about children. They claim that children are not motivated, not interested in studies, don’t spend sufficient time engaged in homework etc.

What parents often fail to realize, is that their parents may have said the same about them too! Education is continuously evolving as generations pass. Therefore the methodology used for one generation, may not be effective for another generation.

If you want your child to shine as a leader, read on!

1. Children Can Solve Problems Too

The thinking patterns of a child are different to those of an adult. Therefore, they are more inclined to suggest innovative solutions. For parents and teachers who struggle to persuade children to study, learner autonomy may be the solu- tion.

Give students ownership of their studies. Ask them what they think they should do to improve. Empower them to make a timetable and manage time. They just may surprise you!

2. Encourage Them to Use their Passions for Good

Guiding children to use what their passions and creativity to share positive messages or bring attention to issues they care about will allow them to find purpose within their passion and use the power of their joy to share important messages.

Equip them with the opportunities and resources to identify what their passions are.

3. Build their Self Confidence

Often children hesitate due to poor self-confidence. It is common for a child who loves to sing, to show no interest in joining the choir. Low self-confidence and selfesteem are issues that most children battle with.

However, this is the personality trait that determines success in adulthood. Encourage them to shine in areas that they love. Give them opportunities to speak out and express themselves.
