Lee sits firm as Sasindu moves to second place

After taking over the whip, Wesley's wing-three-quarter Avishka Lee continues his dominance with an imposing margin as the fifth week count of the Singer- the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year and the School Team of the Year 2017 competitio­ns.

Unlike last week, where Lee added 1193 votes, this week his addition comes in as 117 but the overall tally rises up to 2260 in the Singer- the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year 2017. This is a clear lead of 1906 votes from Sasindu Rathnaweer­a of Ananda College, who took over the second position from Sumudu Rankothge of Isipathana College. Royal's skipper Ovin Askey and initial leader Yuzraan Lantra of Zahira College remains at fourth and fifth positions respective­ly.

With Lee taking the fore in the players competitio­n his team Wesley College gradually sits firm in the top position of the Most Popular Rugby Team of the Year contest with a tally of 2257 votes. Isipathana College remains at second position ahead of Ananda College, who took over the third position from Royal College.
