MSc Business Analytics programme at IIT will open doors to data driven success
Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) in collaboration with Robert Gordon University (RGU), Aberdeen, United Kingdom will be offering Sri Lanka’s first MSc Business Analytics programme.
Business Analytics is one of the most used Buzzword in today’s tech savvy, data overloaded dynamic business landscape. Business Analytics is the study of Data through the combination of human skills, technologies, applications and processes such as statistical and operations analysis, the formation of predictive models, application of optimization techniques by which organisations are able to make better informed decisions based on past performances, facts, data and statistical evidence and formulate strategic plans to drive business decisions.

Analysing such data will empower an organisation to achieve success. MSc Business Analytics is a two- year part time programme which will be exclusively offered at IIT. Course modules for the MSc in Business Analytics will include Data Management, Introduction to Big Data and Data Science, Business Intelligence Tools and Applications, Statistics for Business Analytics, Business Modelling and Analytics, Data Warehousing, Research Methods, Web Mining and the final MSc Project.
Each module is delivered as lectures and tutorials, with special emphasis on practical applications. This unique MSc is designed to award additional qualifications for the successful completion of every academic level. Postgraduate Certificate ( PgC) Business Analytics is awarded on successful completion of four modules and the Postgraduate Diploma ( PgD) Business Analytics is Awarded on successful completion of eight modules. Finally, the MSc Business Analytics is awarded following the successful completion of eight modules with the MSc Project.
