Lee continues to dominate

Wesley College three- quarter Avishka Lee continues to spread his stronghold, so does his team Wesley College, in the sixth week count of the Singer- the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year and the School Team of the Year 2017 competitio­ns.

Lee's tally reaches 2383 as he leads a lineup of 31 others in the players' list and Wesley, becomes the popular team so far with a tally of 2380 votes. Lee's addition for this week is 123 and second in line, Ananda Colle ge's Sasindu Rathnaweer­a received 100 votes to take his count up to 454. However the gap between the two -- 1929 -- is marginally big, considerin­g the number of coupon's coming in.

In the team's competitio­n Wesley has obtained 2380 votes as against other teams who are still in three digit totals. Isipathana College remains at second position ahead of Ananda College, who took over the third position from Royal College last week.

The competitio­n is well set to hot up with nine more weekends to go. The competitio­ns, which enables readers to vote for their most preferred school Rugby player of the ongoing Singer Schools Division I Rugby League Championsh­ip 2017, will run until July 30.

There is a total of 31 players in the list but the names of those who are with 30 and above votes will be published from this week.
