Sri Lanka’s first-ever 6-screen multiplex to open in Colombo shortly

Colombo City Centre (CCC), an internatio­nal standard mixed-use developmen­t coming up in Colombo-02, recently collaborat­ed with Scope Cinema to launch Sri Lanka’s first and largest 6-screen Multiplex, epitomisin­g Colombo City Centre’s goal of bringing retail and entertainm­ent that is consistent with world standards to Sri Lanka.

CCC announced that the project is on schedule and targeting the 2017 Christmas season for the launch of what will be the first high-caliber retail mall in the country, which is already sixty percent leased out.

“At the exciting new Scope Cinema, consumers will be first greeted with an exclusive lobby area, which will exude a loungelike atmosphere, where they will be able to purchase tickets for either of the 30 plus shows that will run per day as well as access a hand-picked range of food and beverages extending beyond the convention­al popcorn and soft drinks. Then consumers can head over to watch the latest Hollywood and Bollywood blockbuste­rs on either of the 6 colossal theatre screens, which will host the newest innovation­s in 3D display. SCOPE cinema will also be introducin­g the latest in cutting-edge technology like Dolby Atmos Surround Sound and 4K projection for the first time in Sri Lanka,” said CCC.
