The Faculty of Hospitality offer Diplomas in International Cookery & Culinary Art and Hotel Management in liaison with City & Guilds United Kingdom.
The International Cookery & Culinary Art Diploma from C&G UK is very comprehensive and the Faculty delivers theory lessons in the auditorium and practical’s in the Faculty Kitchen. Both are delivered by renowned professional Chefs in Sri Lanka with International acceptance with the Academic Director.
The Faculty meets the growing demand, also offering competitive high standard International Cookery and Culinary Art theory and practical courses in Sinhala with English terminology for select students. It is also a needed facet in hotels especially outstation. The diploma shall be commencing on the 15th of July 2017 in both English and Sinhala medium.
The Faculty has done Corporate Training for hotels and Institutions in Cookery and Management, which totals to over 4500 participants by now and progressing well with acceptance.
The Hotel Management Diploma in liaison with City & Guilds UK delivered by the Faculty in three unique tiers ~ Proficiency skills , Certificate Skills and Supervisory Grid Development incorporated . The subjects include: Front Office, Restaurant &Bar,Housekeeping, Conference and Events / Banquets, Supervisory Grid Development Electives, designed and delivered to International standards, by reputed and experienced professional Lecturers with National & International exposure.
The Faculty has had students from S.E Asia , Malaysia , India , Middle East , Africa , South America ,, Australia , Maldives Islands, New Zealand and Canada to name but a few . The Faculty total curriculum with Business studies as an option is formulated for Continued Professional Development (CPD) and further higher studies overseas for discerning students. The Faculty has produced such students with comprehensive Aquinas tutelage, to select International Universities, purely on achieving merit and meeting the foreign standards envisaged at their interviews and pre-qualifying competitive examinations.
The Faculty Course Director is Aquinas College of Higher Studies Deputy Rector Rev Fr Raymond Samarakoon and the Faculty Academic Director is renowned National & International Five Star Hotel General Manager and International Lecturer & Education Counselor,professional MilindaHettiarachchi , a former distinguished student of Aquinas.
