Opening doors for a transforming experience with public speaking

Ms Mahishka Samarasinghe, the Dynamic Young Director, Academic Affairs, Rainbow Institute, explains about the popular training in Public Speaking, Personality Development and Leadership.

Q:The Rainbow Institute is enrolling participants for the new semester for its’ popular training in Public Speaking for Leadership and Personality Development. How can a participant benefit from this?

A: This course is designed to provide inspiration and skills for participants to shine as leaders with ability to think critically and speak out effectively in public and make an impact.

A: This is meant for both adults and youth who are fluent in English. Q: Who are the Trainers?

A: The course Director is eminent University academic, DrMahim Mendis. He is a specialist in Organizational Development and Communication. He has been teaching and mentoring students in Sri Lanka and overseas for three decades.

Dr. Mendisis well known as the former Spokesman of the Federation of University Teachers Associations, (FUTA). For the training in Public Speaking, Dr Mendis is supported by a team of co-trainers, including myself .

All of us, other trainers who work with Dr Mendis at the Rainbow Institute have strong academic and professional credentials with wide international exposure.

Q: What training techniques are used?

A: We use the latest international training techniques which are activity based and fun. So the participants enjoy role plays, impromptu speaking, pair work, group work, debating, watching training videos, inspirational songs etc.

Q:What is the duration?

A: It is an intensive programme of 30 hours, spread over 5 months, to give the participants space to fully absorb, practice and develop their knowledge and skills.

Q: When and where does it take place?

A: The new batch, which is our 23rd batch for this popular training, will be accommodated on Saturdays from 1.00 pm- 3.00 pm OR Wednesdays from 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm Sessions take place at the Rainbow institute premises, 28, School Lane, Colombo 3

Q: What is the Course Fee?

A: Rs35,000for the full 30 hours Programme. This includes cost of course material and participation at our annual awards ceremony which features a grand concluding session on critical thinking and impromptu speaking at a hotel in Colombo.

Q: When does the training start and how does one register?

A: The new course for the Thursday group will start on Thursday 24, August, 2017. The Saturday batch starts on Saturday 26 August. Call Rainbow Institute and reserve your place.
