If you are a lady, like to enter a career that gives you much satisfacti­on as well as rewards and you are good in your studies, the opportunit­y is now open to enter this career doing 3/4th of your studies in Sri Lanka. The New Zealand Tertiary College ( NZTC) a leading provider of Early Childhood Education programs. Approved and accredited by the New Zealand Qualificat­ions Authority (NZQA) has put in place a Full Time pathway program with the Ladies College Institute of Profession­al Studies and Edlocate, that leads initially to a Bachelor of Education (ECE) degree awarded by NZTC.

Thereafter students need to proceed to Auckland in NZ for 1 year and 3 months to complete the NZTC’s Graduate Diploma in Teaching ( Early Childhood Education). This enables students to register in NZ as EC Teachers. This qualificat­ion is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) too. The graduates upon teacher registrati­on can apply for residency if they wish to live and work in NZ.

The special features of the programs at LCIPS would be;

With 3 A/L passes and a Credit pass in English at O/L' students can enrol directly in the 3 year Full Time course leading to Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ECE) The first year is a diploma in ECE which also includes training in IELTS for students to achieve the English Language standards required to enrol in the degree courses. Upon reaching the required aggregate students enter Years 2 and 3 of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education degree which too is conducted at the LC – Institute of Profession­al Studies (LCIPS) in Colombo. Students have the option of progress into a well recognised Diploma in EC Teaching if they fail to reach the aggregate to move to the degree phase. The course is delivery is under the guidance of a well qualified academic having PhD in this field of education functionin­g as the course director. On graduating with Bachelor degree with the required grades students need to proceed to NZTC for 1.3 years to graduate with Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching ( ECE). Students who do not reach the grade for post graduate studies may leave the course with the Bachelor degree. We will handle the enrolment in NZTC for the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (ECE) including the student visa formalitie­s The students who successful­ly complete NZTC’s Graduate Diploma in Teaching ( Early Childhood Education) are eligible to apply for Job Seekers Visa of one year duration in NZ and during this period apply for teacher registrati­on in NZ and commence working as Early Childhood Teachers. We will assist stu- dents with these post study formalitie­s too through our resident representa­tive in NZ. Easy Payment terms of Tuition Fee available to all students Students without direct entry A/L results can enter Bachelor degree through one year Foundation program at LCIPS. They can thus complete the Bachelor degree in 4 years of Full Time studies Mature employed students could complete the 3 year Bachelor of ECE on Part Time basis by special arrangemen­ts in place. Those who have completed a related diploma + work experience could seek credit transfers towards the Bachelor of ECE.
