SLT Head of HR wins Top 50 Profession­al and Career Women GOLD Award for Leadership Excellence

Ms. Indrani Hissalle, Chief Human Resources Officer of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC - laurelled with the Top 50 Profession­al & Career Women GOLD Award 2017 for Leadership Excellence in Human Resources held in Colombo recently.

The awards highlight and honour women in the national and regional economy and celebrate their achievemen­ts, experience and creativity in leading the institutio­ns, profession­s and businesses in an efficient and effective manner.

The award ceremony was held on 14th July 2017 at Taj Samudra Hotel Colombo and organised by the Women in Management (WIM) in partnershi­p with Internatio­nal Finance Corporatio­n (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

Ms Hissalle, is an exceptiona­l management profession­al with over 20 years of experience including managing Human Resource for the last 10 years. She is a member of the Associatio­n of HR Profession­als (MHRP), SL and works towards the betterment of the corporate business and establishe­d efficiency, productivi­ty and sound management during second year as CHRO of SLT.

She has extensive expertise in Regional Operations, Project Management, Training, Contact Centre business including HR management. She has been engaged with employee relationsh­ip activities by heading disciplina­ry committees, Governance Board and Company Dress Code Committee for last six years. Ms Hissalle is a reputed speaker at the Internatio­nal Quality & Productivi­ty Centre (IQPC) and a visiting lecturer of University of Peradeniya. She is a member of the Industrial Advisory Committee of Faculty of Engineerin­g, University of Peradeniya. She is reading for her PhD at the University of Peradeniya.

She joined SLT in 1993 and holds a BSc in Electronic and Electrical Engineerin­g and MSc in Telecommun­ications Engineerin­g from University of Peradeniya. She is a Fellow of The Institutio­n of Engineers Sri Lanka and a Past President of IESL Provincial Centre. In addition, she is a Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineerin­g, IEEE (USA) and currently holds the position of Secretary of Microwave Theory & Techniques Society (Sri Lankan Chapter). Ms Hissalle is a life member of JASTECA – Japan, where she had intensive training on solving human and organisati­onal problems.
