Speaking with Mr. Amila Kularatne, Head of Marketing, We also learned the high success rate of the RIHE 6 month certificate programs, and the 1 Year Diploma Programs, which are on offer on the weekends for Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Graphic Design. “We have a strong contingent of working Industry Professionals, and School leavers, along with those who want to understand the fundamentals of these exciting Industries, taking the courses. Since the classes are on the weekends this opens up this level of education, to a wider audi- ence of Design enthusiasts” Amila said.

Leading from the front the College Director Mr. Johannes Silaban has implemented many strategies, and structures, that together with His dedicated Academic staff and prolific Marketing team, plan to bring to fruition over the next few months. Unique Corporate links forging ties with the industry also plays a key factor in the upward trajectory of RIHE strategy. Recently Fashion Design Program Coordinator Ms. Dinesh Chandrasena worked with Ms. Gail Temple, DGM Technical/Design Development for globally recognized MAS Kreeda (who produce NIKE Sportswear) to bring about a “Knowledge sharing” event on campus, that included key management personnel from both organizations coming together for planning and Industry growth discussions. This is one of many such events that RIHE will be looking to be part of in

the near future.

“Open Workshops” are another invaluable component that Raffles provides, that enables the General public to get an understanding of creative Industries that they maybe passionate about. These are regular occurrences and offer insights into Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Graphic Design, free of charge. The next “Open workshop” is scheduled for Friday August 25th, titled “The Fundamentals of Fashion Design” and “Graphic Design”. Amila elaborated saying “These workshops along with Our marketing team organizing off-campus events, and participating in Education Exhibitions along with numerous Design competitions ensures that Our target audience gets first hand information on the best education available for them in Sri Lanka. Raffles Colombo has grown from Strength to strength, and the 100% employability that Our Graduates experience is testament to the internationally recognized standards of the Design Education We provide. Also Students can pay the tuition fees with flexible payment methods and also students who are having financial difficulties we have tied up with some local banks for loan facilities to repay up to
